It was an ugly one, but the Athletics managed to get their ninth win of the season with a 10-6 North Star League victory over the Buffalo Bulldogs on Monday night.
Starting pitcher, Zach Iten (2-0) got the win for the Athletics. Iten scattered four hits giving up 3 runs while striking out seven in 6-innings of work.
Offensively the Athletics took advantage of seven errors committed by the Bulldogs. Kevin Jaunich continued his hot hitting streak, finishing the game 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. The Athletics also recieved a power surge with homeruns by Trevor Jaunich and Jay Stevens. Trevor finished the game 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, Stevens finished the game 2-for-5 with an RBI and 3 runs scored.
Adam Schleper pitching in relief got a two inning save. Schleper scattered two hits giving up no runs.
With the win the Athletics improved their overall record to 9-1, which is the teams best start since the 1999 season when the Athletics started the season 8-2.
The Athletics will complete their four games in five day stretch on Tuesday night when they host the Shakopee Indians. It will be "dollar dog night" at the park.
