Rivals meet again in Region 12C tournament

Delano will face off against its rival the Loretto Larks, tonight, August 5, at 8:30 p.m in the first round of the region 12C amateur baseball tournament at Delano Municipal Baseball Park.

The teams split the regular season series, 1-1. The Athletics defeated Loretto 6-4 in Delano on June 6 and the Lark defeated the Athletics 9-6 on July 15 in Loretto.

Starting pitching matchup, Zach Iten for Delano and Troy Beckman for Loretto.  Iten finished the North Star League regular season with a 2.33 earned run average and Beckman finished with a 3.54 earned run average.

Loretto is led offensively by reigning North Star League MVP, Tyler Maher.  Delano is led offensively by Joey Althoff.
