Ryan Hayes delivered the go-ahead hit on a single in the top of the tenth inning that sent the Delano Athletics to their 3rd straight win, 5-4 over the Dassel-Cokato Saints in Dassel.
With 2-outs and Jeff Althoff on second base, Hayes drove a 0-2 pitch from Jordan Danielson into right-center-field scoring Althoff.
It was a dramatic finish to a game in which the Athletics were in command throughout and held a 4-0 lead heading to the bottom of the ninth inning. With Tyler Hannan entering his third inning of relief for starter Jake Gleason the Saints strung together a 4-run rally to tie the game and send it to extras.
Jake Gleason pitched 5 innings and got the no-decision. Gleason scattered three hits, giving up zero runs. Tyler Hannan scattered two hits, giving up four runs, only one of which was earned in 2 innings of work. Hannan struckout four batters. Trevor Jaunich picked up the win in relief of Hannan. Jaunich scattered one hit while striking out four in 2 innings.
Offensively the Athletics were led by Kevin Jaunich who was 3-for-4 with an RBI, Trevor Jaunich 2-for 5 with 2 RBIs, and Ryan Hayes who finished 2-for-4 with the game winning RBI.
